What is a PSCS?

A PSCS is an abbreviation for the title "Project Supervisor Construction Stage".

The Client (person procuring the construction work to be carried out) appoints the PSCS for Projects that are notifiable or require the appointment of a PSCS under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Construction Regulations 2013.

The PSCS is normally a Main General Contractor. An Organisation that has the skills, knowledge, awareness, training and experience to carry out the role.

Sometimes, a PSCS may appoint a PSCS co-ordinator to assist in the day to day management of the role.

"The role of the project supervisor construction stage is to manage and co-ordinate health and safety matters during the construction stage. The project supervisor construction stage is appointed before the construction work begins and remains in that position until all construction work on the project is completed".- Health and Safety Authority

Training is only one aspect of the competency to carry out the role of PSCS.

We provide an Online Training course in the Management Duties of the PSCS and more details can be found by clicking here.
